The project is being implemented in Kombolcha and Meta Districts of Oromia region where the dominant farming system is cereal and vegetable-based mixed farming. Key constraints to agriculture in the region include poor market access, poor water harvesting technologies, lack of quality seeds, need for improved livestock breeds, prevalence of pests and disease and malnutrition.
