In Kenya, the project is being implemented in the Central highlands and Mid-altitude eastern region where mixed crop livestock system and dairy systems are common. Farmers’ key challenges include erratic rainfall and frequent drought; low soil fertility; low income; inadequate livestock feeds; declining per capita land; and the high cost of fertilizers.
